Andy Forsberg Takes Placerville Speedway Points Lead with Three Races Left

PETERSEN MEDIA- Though 2021 hasn’t quite been the year many have been accustomed to for Andy Forsberg and F&F Racing, the team was able to inch ahead of the season long point standings at Placerville Speedway in Saturday night as Forsberg’s fifth place finish gives him a single digit advantage with three races to go.

“Our night got off to a pretty good start with qualifying and our heat race, but we kind of struggled to keep that speed up in the feature event,” Forsberg said. “We keep trying things hoping to hit on something when it gets slick like it does, but we aren’t quite there yet. The guys will keep plugging away, and we will see what we can do this weekend in Merced, CA.”

With 29 cars on hand at Placerville, CA’s Placerville Speedway, Forsberg would lay down a very strong lap after going out late in the time trial session as he stopped the clocks with the second fastest lap of the night aboard the C&H Motor Parts/Bushey Financial Services/PitStopUSA backed No. x1 machine.

Lining up in the second row of his heat race, Forsberg would put himself in a good position as he worked into the lead. Picking up the win, Forsberg transferred directly into the feature event, but also earned a spot in the redraw where the five pill placed him in the third row for the 25-lap feature event.

Placerville Speedway staff would touch the slick surface up prior to the feature event pushing off, and it would provide two distinct grooves for the finale.

Setting into fifth when the race came to life, Forsberg would find himself battling with the likes of Justyn Cox and Andy Gregg as they raced around the ¼ mile bullring.

Searching high and low aboard the F&F Racing mount, Forsberg would continue to keep his machine well inside the Top-5 as he would work his way into fourth on an early restart.

Just as he took fourth on a restart, Forsberg would lose fourth on a restart a few laps later as he fell back to fifth where he would continue to run.

Battling with Cox and Willie Croft late in the race, Forsberg would keep his mount solidly in the Top-5 as his fifth place finish now has him up front in the track standings.

“Points are cool, but we really want to be up front and contending for wins,” Forsberg said. “We got a motor back and things ran well, so hopefully we can keep tuning and get this thing up front.”

F&F Racing and Andy Forsberg would like to thank C&H Motor Parts, Bushey Financial Services, PitStopUSA, Geico Local Office, Econo Lube-n-Tune & Brakes, Lucas Oil, Pacific Highway Rentals, Autism Awareness, CRV Carbon Solutions, All Pro Heads, and Engler for their support in 2021.
