PETERSEN MEDIA- Traveling to the Petaluma Speedway on Saturday night for round no. 5 with the Civil War Series, Andy Forsberg and his C&M Motorsports would be a part of an exciting battle for the lead and ultimately end his night with a third place finish.

“We had a pretty good car, and we hung with Zack Lynskey and Sean Becker for the whole race and got by them at one point, but I just didn’t have the ‘pounce factor’,” Andy Forsberg said.

Timing the PitStopUSA/PT Shocks/Autism Awareness No. 7c machine in third quickest in qualifying time trials, the Auburn, CA driver would race his way to a third place finish during his heat race and transfer into the feature event and earn a berth into the six lap dash.

Lining up in the second row of the dash, Forsberg would chase after Lynskey and Becker who ran just in front of him, but he would settle for a third place finish which put him in the second row for the 30-lap feature event.

As the green flag waived, Forsberg jumped into the third spot as he again found himself battling with Lynskey and Becker as the trio broke off into their own pack. The fast paced feature event soon saw the leaders enter lapped traffic and this allowed Forsberg to mount his challenge for the top spot.

The laps would continue to click off in rapid fire fashion and as the race reached the halfway point, Forsberg would get by his two competitors, but would make his pass stick as he would fall back to the third spot.

With the non-stop feature nearing completion, Forsberg would mount a challenge on second running Lynskey in the closing laps, but he would be unable to make a pass stick as he took the checkered flag with a third place finish.

“It was a really fun track to run on, and we could go both high and low,” Forsberg added. “It was another good points weekend for us with the Civil War Series, but we would like to get back into victory lane. Thanks to everyone involved with this C&M Motorsports team for all of their hard work.”

By way of his podium finish, Forsberg and the C&M Motorsports team were able to add to their series point lead by three digits giving them a 13 point lead heading into the Howard Kaeding Classic set for July.

The C&M Motorsports team would like to thank PitStopUSA, Autism Awareness, Pacific Highway Rentals, PT Shocks, Swartz Diesel, and Velocity Race Gear and all of their product sponsors for their continued support.

ON TAP: The C&M Motorsports team will travel to the Placerville Speedway this coming Saturday night.
