Andy Gregg 10th at Placerville Speedway
PETERSEN MEDIA: Making his season debut during weekly action at Placerville Speedway on the 4th of July, Andy Gregg was pleased with how things went in what was essentially a shake down as he finished 10th in the feature.
“It felt great to be back at the track racing,” Andy Gregg said. “It was a great first night out in the 360ci and hopefully we can improve on that this weekend.”
With 28 cars checked in on Thursday, Gregg opened the night up by timing the GUTS/Capitol ACE Hardware/Crane Inspection Agency No. 16x machine in 16th fastest as he just made the heat race inversion.
From the front row of his heat race, Gregg would battle hard with youngster Cole Macedo and Kalib Henry as he needed a win to grab the transfer to the redraw.
Finishing second in his heat, Gregg would miss out on the redraw but still made his way to the 25-lap feature event where he took the green flag from the 16th starting position.
From deep in the field, Gregg did a great job of patiently working around the ¼ mile bullring with many of the competitors utilizing the low groove of the speedway. Picking off cars meticulously, Gregg would cap a great first night out in weekly competition with a 10th place finish.
“Grabbing a Top-10 is great, but we strive for Top-5’s and better,’ Andy Gregg said. “Still shaking some rust off, so hopefully I will be back up to full speed on Saturday. Thanks to all the guys who help me out, and all the great companies associated with our team.”
