PETERSEN MEDIA: Making his first 410ci start in nearly a full calendar year, Andy Gregg would battle the King of the West Series at Placerville Speedway on Saturday night where he would get his night off to a great start before slipping back to finish 13th in the feature event.

“It was my first night in a 410ci in probably a year to the day,” Andy Gregg said. “I felt rusty at first but we really got off to a great start in time trials and in our heat race.”

Timing the GUTS/Angius and Terry LLP/Capitol Ace Hardware entry in fifth quickest in qualifying time trials, the Diamond Springs, CA driver would start and finish third in his heat race.

With his qualifying effort and his feat race finish, Gregg would earn the last spot in the Dash where he would line up in the sixth spot. With the track still fast in the Dash, Gregg would settle for a sixth place finish as he went back to his trailer and started to prepare for the feature event.

Admittedly thinking the track would slick off in the feature event as it had in previous weeks at Placerville Speedway, Gregg would go too aggressive on his setup. Running inside the Top-10, Gregg would work the bottom in the early laps but was just too tight down low.

Getting up to try the top out, Gregg would start trending the wrong direction as he fell out of the Top-10 and struggled at times to get going. Able to settle into 13th, Gregg would take the checkered in that position to close his night out.

“I thought I might have the upper hand with how the track has been lately but it kind of bit me,” Gregg said. “Overall it was a good week, we got the chance to go hang out at the Ronald McDonald House of Sacramento on Thursday, we welcomed a new marketing partner, and we were able to race. Thanks to all those people who continue to support us.”

Andy would like to thank GUTS, Angius and Terry LLP, Capitol ACE Hardware, Crane Inspection Agency, Ice House Resort, CTL Forest Management, Nail It Roofing, ARP Enterprises, Ervin Sales, Triple X, Wilwood, FK Shocks, FK Rod Ends, K&N,  King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, Amerikote, Pony Express Service, Eagle Grit, and MF Inc. for their support in 2018.
