Andy Gregg 4th at Placerville Speedway’s Carnett Clash

PETERSEN MEDIA: Returning to action at Placerville Speedway on Saturday night for the first time since his hard charge was derailed, Andy Gregg would not be denied a strong finish on this night as he picked up a fourth-place finish during the Carnett Clash.

“I am having a blast in what is my final season as a car owner, and I have to thank my guys for their hard work,” Andy Gregg said. “It was a pretty good night, and I hope we have a packed house for the 4th of July this weekend.”

Gregg got his night off to a solid start as he timed the GUTS/LAL Motorsports/Crane Inspection Agency entry in 16th fastest after being the first car out on the track for time trials.

Lining up on the pole of his heat race as the last driver to make the heat race inversion, the Diamond Springs, CA driver would take care of business as his heat race win would propel him into the nightly redraw to set the first four rows of the feature event.

Pulling the three pill, Gregg would line up in the second row alongside longtime rival, Andy Forsberg. On the slick racing surface, Gregg would settle into the fourth spot as the race got going.

After an early stoppage, Gregg would slip back to fifth on the ensuring double finale restart but would quickly jump back up into the fourth position as he worked the Placerville Speedway cushion.

Tripping up on the cushion with six laps left in the race, Gregg would fall back to fifth, where he would run until the final caution flew on lap 23. The next restart saw Gregg get off to a nice start as he would jump up into the fourth position, where he would go on to finish.

“It was a good points night, but we still have some work to do,” Gregg said. “We picked up points on the two guys in front of us, and if we can keep doing that form here on out, you never know what can happen. I also have to give a big thank you to all of these great people on the car who have been so supportive this year.”

Andy would like to thank GUTS, LAL Motorsports, Crane Inspection Agency, Meyers and Son Drywall, Nail it Roofing, CTL Forest Management, ARP Enterprises, Ervin Sales, Aaron Dosh Attorney at Law, Ice House Resort, Classic Fence Co., Triple X, Wilwood, FK Shocks, FK Rod Ends, K&N, King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, Amerikote, Pony Express Service, Eagle Grit, Sierra Ice, Ford’s Only, MF Inc., and Gilly’s Radiator for their support.

ON TAP: Gregg will be back in action on Sunday night for the annual 4th of July race at Placerville Speedway.
