Andy Gregg Eighth with Brown-Eagle Racing

PETERSEN MEDIA: Saturday night in Chico, CA, Andy Gregg returned to the seat of the Brown-Eagle Racing No. 01 entry and picked up an eighth-place finish during the Silver Cup.

“For it being our firs night out, I can’t complain,” Andy Gregg said. “I thought things went well, and we ended the night with a good result.”

Battling some mechanical gremlins during qualifying time trials, Gregg and company would get in a bit of an early hole as the Diamond Springs, CA driver timed in 23rd fastest in time trials.

Lining up sixth in heat race competition, Gregg would need to get his elbows up to move into one of the four transfer positions. With things going his way, Gregg would make a couple of big moves that would see him move into fourth.

Hanging on to the fourth and final transfer position, Gregg was able to overcome to tough qualifying effort and lock directly into the Silver Cup feature event.

Taking the green flag from the 15th starting position, Gregg would continue to showcase the same speed he had in heat race as he raced his way through the Top-10.

With the first 19 laps clicking off in nearly no time at all, Gregg would find himself up in seventh when the race’s first caution flew. The ensuing restart would see the veteran driver make a slight mistake that cost him several positions.

Slipping all the way back to 13th, Gregg would rebound well as he marched his way back forward and rounded his night out with an eighth place finish.

“We had a couple hiccups, but it was a good first night,” Gregg added. “Thanks to all the people who help make this possible.”

Andy would like to thank GUTS, LAL Motorsports, Crane Inspection Agency, Meyers and Son Drywall, Sierra Ice, CTL Forest Management, Nail It Roofing, ARP Enterprises, Ervin Sales, Triple X, Wilwood, FK Shocks, FK Rod Ends, K&N, King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, Amerikote, Pony Express Service, Eagle Grit, and MF Inc. for their support.
