PETERSEN MEDIA: Reuniting with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour on Saturday night for the series’ lone visit to the state of Nevada, Andy Gregg would come home with a ninth place finish.

“All in all it was a productive trip for us,” Andy Gregg said. “We ran well in our heat race, but didn’t make the Dash and that put us back in the eighth row. The track was pretty technical but we moved forward well.”

Timing the GUTS Racing/Angius and Terry LLP/Capitol ACE Hardware machine in fourth quickest in his time trial group, Gregg would go on to pick up a third place finish in his heat race and transfer directly into the 35-lap feature event.

Not qualifying for the Dash, the Diamond Springs, CA wheelman would take the green flag from the 16th starting position on the extremely slick Fernley 95A Raceway. Not deterred from starting deep in the field on this night, Gregg would slowly carve his way forward as he worked the bottom groove.

Able to take advantage of some guys slipping up the track as they tried to stick the bottom, Gregg was able to pick up positions on a track that was tricky to pass on for much of the field.

With the race’s first yellow not coming until the 33rd lap, Gregg would take advantage of the double-file restart as he picked up another position late to finish ninth and come away with Hard Charger honors.

“I need to thank Tony Borello for working hard and getting me my engine back in time to make the trip,” Gregg said. “Everything went well, and it was nice to have a good night at the track.”

Andy would like to thank GUTS, Angius and Terry LLP, Capitol ACE Hardware, Ice House Resort, CTL Forest Management, ARP Enterprises, Ervin Sales, Broadband Agreements, Russo Insurance, Kelly Moore Paints, Cal Pro Paint and Construction, Triple X, Wilwood, FK Shocks, FK Rod Ends, K&N,  King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, Amerikote, Pony Express Service, and MF Inc. for their support in 2017.

ON TAP: Gregg will get right back to racing this week as he is scheduled to take part in the Tribute to Al Hinds on Saturday night in Placeville, CA.

2017 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-14, Wins- 0, Top 5’s-1, Top 10’s-4
