PETERSEN MEDIA: Battling the Sprint Car Challenge Tour on Friday night at Placerville Speedway, and Saturday night at Stockton Dirt Track, Andy Gregg performed very well as he was able to come away with two Top-10 finishes.

“I am extremely proud of my team, and very happy to come away with two Top-10’s against two really strong fields of cars,” Gregg said. “We have been working hard the last few weeks, and it is good to put a nice weekend together.”

Friday night kicked the two-race weekend off as he checked in at Placerville Speedway with the Guts/Angius and Terry LLP/Capitol Ace Hardware No. 16 machine. Timing in second fastest in his qualifying group, the Diamond Springs, CA pilot would have a bit of a set back in his heat race as a sixth place finish forced him into the night’s semi.

Leading the way in the 15-lap ‘B’ Main, Gregg punched his ticket into the 40-lap feature event where he would grid the field from the 13th starting position. On the slick and racy ¼ mile, Gregg was very patient as he worked his way forward.

Racing his way inside the Top-10, Gregg ran in the eighth spot when the race’s first caution flew on the 20th lap. Fighting hard inside the Top-10 during the back half of the race, Gregg would race hard with the likes of Roger Crockett, Jimmy Trulli, and DJ Netto. When the action packed race ended, Gregg brought home a ninth place finish.

Following the series to Stockton Dirt Track on Saturday night, Gregg would get off to another good start as he timed the Ice House Resort/CTL Forest Management/ARP Enterprises entry in third quickest in his time trial group.

Lining up on the front row of his heat race, Gregg punched his ticket into the nightly Dash by way of his second place finish. A fifth place finish in the Dash put the Ervin Sales/Broadband Agreements/Russo Insurance in the third row of the 35-lap feature event.

On a slick Stockton Dirt Track early in the race, Gregg would battle with Willie Croft, and Ryan Bernal in the early stages as they fought for position inside the Top-10.

As the laps went on, the Stockton Dirt Track would start to lay down rubber and the racing groove would soon become single file. Running in the seventh spot, Gregg was cautious to hit his marks and keep his tires under him as he took the checkered flag in the seventh spot.

“Really pleased with the speed again, and like I said really happy to come away with good finishes,” Gregg added. “I have to thank everyone that continues to support this race team, and all of the guys that help me out.”

Andy would like to thank GUTS, Angius and Terry LLP, Capitol ACE Hardware, Ice House Resort, CTL Forest Management, ARP Enterprises, Ervin Sales, Broadband Agreements, Russo Insurance, Kelly Moore Paints, Cal Pro Paint and Construction, Triple X, Wilwood, FK Shocks, FK Rod Ends, K&N,  King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, Amerikote, Pony Express Service, and MF Inc. for their support in 2017.

ON TAP: Gregg will take a couple of weeks off before returning to action at Placerville Speedway for the Nor-Cal Posse Shootout 9/22-23.
