PETERSEN MEDIA: Though he waited until July to start his 2019 season off, Andy Gregg appeared to be in mid season form on Saturday night at Placerville Speedway as he thrilled the crowd and charged from 15thto finish fourth.

“Man, after the first few nights I had I was pretty dejected, but Saturday night was a huge boost of confidence for myself,” Andy Gregg said. “I had my old crew chief Bill MacLaren back on the wrenches, and everything felt really good in the feature event.”

Timing the GUTS/Capitol Ace Hardware/Crane Inspection Agency No. 16x machine in 14thquickest in qualifying time trials, Gregg had his work cut out for himself. Needing to win the heat race to get into the redraw, Gregg would come up short as he would finish third.

Moving into the feature event, Gregg would take the green flag from the 15thstarting position on a surface that was fresh manicured prior to the final race of the night.

Letting the track come to him in the opening laps, Gregg would soon find himself on the thick Placerville Speedway cushion making headway as he worked through the field at a quick pace.

Gregg would seemingly starting picking off a car or two a lap, as he worked through the Top-10 and soon got into the Top-five. Getting stronger and stronger as the laps clicked off, a late yellow saw the local product sitting in the fifth position.

When the action resumed, Gregg proved he was not done quite yet as he would get by Kalib Henry to cap his night with a fourth place finish.

“To go against these guys who have pretty much ran an entire season and do what we did is pretty cool,” Gregg said. “I just have to thank everyone associated with this team for all of their support and helping me get back to the track.”

Andy would like to thank GUTS, Capitol ACE Hardware, Crane Inspection Agency, Sierra Ice, CTL Forest Management, Nail It Roofing, ARP Enterprises, Ervin Sales, Triple X, Wilwood, FK Shocks, FK Rod Ends, K&N,  King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, Amerikote, Pony Express Service, Eagle Grit, and MF Inc. for their support in 2019.
