PETERSEN MEDIA- Looking to build off of his season opening win with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour during the series’ two-day show in Stockton, CA, Andy Forsberg and F&F Racing would have a tough weekend that included a nasty wreck on Friday night.

“It was a tough weekend for the team, but I really have to thank all the F&F guys for working so hard to get another car ready for Saturday night after a pretty big wreck on Friday,” Andy Forsberg said. “We will move on and focus on Placerville Speedway Saturday night.”

Friday night saw the Auburn, CA driver time the Econo Lube-N-Tune and Brakes/Geico Local Office/PitStopUSA backed No. x1 machine in fourth quickest in his time trial group.

Getting shuffled out of a transfer in his heat race, Forsberg would be forced into the ‘B’ Main, and he would grab the win in that race to make his way into the Asparagus Cup opening night feature event.

Gridding the field from the 21st starting position, Forsberg would get off to a nice start as he patiently began picking up some positions. On the 10th lap, things would go south for AF as he would end up taking a wild ride down the Stockton Dirt Track front stretch, which brought his night to an end.

No worse for ware, Forsberg would return to action on Saturday night, as his team worked hard to get their second car ready for battle.

Timing in seventh fastest in his qualifying group, Forsberg would use a late restart in his heat race to steal the final transfer position into the 30-lap feature event.

Taking the green flag from the 18th starting position, Forsberg would struggle to get going on the extremely slick surface. Going down a lap early in the race, the Auburn, CA driver would call it a night and head back to the pit area.

“We kind of had a plan to run a car and an engine on the big tracks and back in February we blew that engine up, and Friday night we destroyed that car,” Forsberg said. “My guys still worked hard despite the odds not being in our favor and I am confident we will get it ironed out before we get on the next big track.”

F&F Racing and Andy Forsberg would like to thank Econo Lube-n-Tune and Brakes, Geico Local Office, PitStopUSA, Lucas Oil, Pacific Highway Rentals, Autism Awareness, FVP, and CRV Carbon Solutions for their support in 2019.

ON TAP: F&F Racing will be back in action Saturday night at Placerville Speedway.
