PETERSEN MEDIA- Austin Torgerson ended 2022 on a high note. Taking part in four divisions at the Tulsa Shootout, Torgerson capped his week off with a third place run during the Stock Non-Winged feature event.
Though he would compete in four classes at the Shootout, the Stock Non-Winged class is where Austin Torgerson shined all week long.
Heat race action saw Torgerson work his way from fifth to pick up the win aboard his Safety-Kleen entry.
Moving into a qualifier, the Medford, OR driver lined up on the front row and handled his business as he worked the Tulsa Expo Raceway to perfection and picked up the very important win.
With his win, Torgerson was safely in Saturday’s Stock Non-Winged feature event where he was slated to roll off the starting grid from the third starting position.
As the feature event went green after some track work, Torgerson settled in as he spent the duration of the race battling for a spot on the podium. Keeping his car solidly in third, Torgerson went on to capture the checkered flag in third, and celebrate on the podium.
Having some tough luck in Outlaw and “A” Class Winged divisions, Torgerson would eventually tally a third-place finish in the Winged Outlaw ‘C’, and a 5th place finish in the ‘A’ Class Winged C.
Non-Winged Outlaw action saw him Charge from seventh to first in the ‘E’, aboard his Safety-Kleen backed No. 88, before his run from 13th to seventh in the ‘D’, ended his week of Outlaw action.
