B Main Miscue Ends Joel Myers Jr’s Pacific Sprint Fall Nationals

PETERSEN MEDIA: Spending his weekend in Chico, CA at the Pacific Sprint Fall Nationals, Joel Myers would finish 16th in Friday night’s opening night feature event before a miscue in Saturday’s ‘B’ would bring his weekend to an early end.

“Friday night we had good car speed, but the track made it really difficult to pass,” Joel Myers Jr said. “Saturday night was more of a struggle for us, and in the ‘B’, I got up over the cushion and it resulted into me getting into the wall and causing enough damage to end our night.”

With a robust 66 cars jammed into the pit area on Friday night, the Sebastopol, CA native got his weekend off to a very good start as he timed the All About Fire Protection/Dirt Dudes/Amerikote backed No. 46jr entry in seventh fastest in his qualifying flight.

Lining up fourth in his heat race, Myers would find himself up in the third position until his car would bike up in turns three and four, relegating him to a fourth-place finish but still locking him into the opening night feature event.

With the track still heavy and narrow as the feature event came to life, Myers Jr would have trouble mounting a charge to the front as everyone was able to keep up a similar pace in the middle of the field where he ran. Slipping back to 16th, Myers would continue to look for a way forward, but on this night nothing was there.

As the 30-lapper came to a close, ‘Jr’ would close the night out with a 16th place finish.

Saturday night saw a few more cars join the fun as 69 entrants would check in for the final event of the season at Chico, CA’s Silver Dollar Speedway. Going out 15th in the first flight of time trials, “Jr” would time in 15th fastest and put himself in an early hole.

Finishing eighth in his heat race, the 15-year-old gasser would be forced into the ‘B’ Main where he would line up ninth as he would look for one of four tickets into the 40-lap feature event.

As the semi came to life, Myers Jr would go to work on the high side of the speedway. Working his way forward, the fifth lap would see the car get upset on the cushion, and Myers Jr would get into the front stretch wall and cause damage to his right-rear wheel and fuel cell.

With the damage, he made the decision to head back to the pit area and bring his weekend to a close.

“Saturday night, I just got the car a little upset and we got sucked into the wall and that was that.” Myers said. “Thanks to my guys for their hard work, and we are looking forward to getting back in the 410ci car this weekend.”

Joel Myers Jr Racing would like to thank All About Fire Protection, Dirt Dudes, Amerikote, PitStopUSA, Y2K Gaming, Shark Racing Engines, Lucas Oil, Vaider, L Delo Designs, Factory Kahne Shocks, Walker Performance Filtration, ShopRico.Com, Tiner Hirst Enterprise, Kaeding Performance, and Triple X Race Co. for their continued support.

ON TAP: Myers Jr and his team will head to Keller Auto Speedway in Hanford, CA this weekend where they will run the Kings of Thunder 410ci show on Friday night, and the King of the West 410ci race on Saturday night.
