B Main Tangle Ends Gregg’s Night Early

PETERSEN MEDIA: Returning to action with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour on Saturday night in Placerville, CA, Andy Gregg would get collected in a tangle during the night’s ‘B’ Main event and his night would get cut short.

“Our night got off to a really slow start and we found ourselves in an early hole,” Gregg said. “We got going okay in the ‘C’, and moved on to the ‘B’, but we got collected in someone else’s mess and it ended our night early.”

Timing his GUTS/Angius and Terry LLP/Capitol Ace Hardware No. 16 sprinter in fifth fastest in his qualifying time trials group, Gregg would find himself in the third row of his heat race.

Needing to finish inside the Top-Three to transfer directly into the 40-lap feature event, the Diamond Springs, CA driver would finish in the sixth spot after a spirited battle with Willie Croft.

With the semi main events lined up by overall qualifying times opposed to heat finishes, Gregg would then find himself on the front row of one of the night’s twin ‘C’ main events.

On the slicked off Placerville Speedway surface, Gregg’s Ice House Resort/CTL Forest Management/ARP Enterprises backed machine looked stout as he would lead all laps and keep his night going as he advanced into the night’s ‘B’ main event.

Lining up in the back of the pack, Gregg had his sights set on one of the seven positions that were up for grabs in the night’s final main event. Unfortunately for Gregg, cars would tangle in turns one and two early in the race, and with nowhere to go Gregg would get in on the action and not be able to make repairs in the work area in time.

“It was a tough start to the night, but we got better as the night went on which is a good thing,” Gregg said. “Unfortunately for us we were just in too deep of a hole to recover. Thanks to my guys for their hard work all night.”

Andy would like to thank GUTS, Angius and Terry LLP, Capitol ACE Hardware, Ice House Resort, CTL Forest Management, ARP Enterprises, Ervin Sales, Broadband Agreements, Russo Insurance, Kelly Moore Paints, Cal Pro Paint and Construction, Triple X, Wilwood, FK Shocks, FK Rod Ends, K&N,  King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, Amerikote, Pony Express Service, and MF Inc. for their support in 2017.

ON TAP: Gregg is scheduled to return to action on Saturday night back at Placerville Speedway.

2017 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-2, Wins- 0, Top 5’s-0, Top 10’s-0
