Bakers Dozen! Kasiner Races to 13th Win of Season
PETERSEN MEDIA: Garth Kasiner’s summer to remember continued on over the weekend. Amidst a championship battle at three different tracks and the King of California Series, the Five Points, CA driver continued to dominate the competition as he recorded his 13th win of the year Friday night in Visalia, CA before a fourth place effort in Lemoore, CA on Saturday night.
Kicking the two race weekend off on Friday night at Plaza Park Raceway in Visalia, CA, Kasiner would flex his muscle early as he timed the West Hills Oil/CS9/SRP backed No. 21g machine in second quickest in time trials before racing to a third place finish in his heat race.
Moving into the feature event, Kasiner would take the green flag from the third starting position. When the race came to life, Kasiner jumped up onto the cushion and quickly settled into the third spot as he chased after second frantically.
Continuing to ride the cushion, Kasiner would advance to second and set his sights on the early leader as laps clicked off in rapid-fire fashion. Continuing to ‘rip the lip’, Kasiner was patient as he would need traffic to close in on the race lead.
Finally getting to traffic late in the race, Kasiner was on the attack as he went for the top spot. In heavy traffic, Kasiner would get off the cushion and move to the bottom of the track and slide up in front of the leader to take over the top spot in the race’s closing laps.
Out front, Kasiner would not be denied as he went on to claim his 13th win of the 2017 season.
Saturday night the scene shifted to Lemoore Raceway in nearby Lemoore, CA. Timing the Roger Vogt’s Performance Auto and Air/Irritec P1 Drip Tape/Keizer Wheels backed No. 21g machine in fastest in qualifying time trials, Kasiner would pocket a third place finish during his heat race.
With the inversion not on his side in the ‘A’, Kasiner would take the green flag form the eighth starting spot, in another feature event that ripped off laps very quickly.
Moving forward slowly but surely on a surface that was tough to pass on, Kasiner would end his weekend with another good run as he took the checkered flag in the fourth spot.
