Becker 4th at Cotton Classic with Monhoff Racing
PETERSEN MEDIA- Fresh off of a dominating run at the Adobe Cup, Sean Becker and Monhoff Racing returned to action on Saturday night where they picked up a fourth place finish with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour at Keller Auto Speedway in Hanford, CA during the Cotton Classic.
With 33 SCCT cars checked in for battle in the series’ penultimate event of the year, Becker would time in third quickest in his qualifying group. By way of his time, ‘The Shark’ would take the green flag for him heat race from the front row, and took advantage of the starting position.
On the heavy racing surface, Becker jumped out to the early lead and never looked back as he picked off the win and himself eligible for the High Sierra Industries Dash.
Pulling the pill, Becker would lose a couple of positions in the six-lap showdown as a third place finish placed him in the third row for the 30-lap Cotton Classic feature event.
With the surface still pull of plenty of moisture, it would create a hammer down feature event as Becker was up in the mix battling with the likes of Justyn Cox and Cole Macedo for the top spot.
Making it a three car battle for the top spot as the leaders got into traffic on a couple of occasions, untimely cautions would slow his progress and would give Macedo open track.
In the closing stages of the race, a charging Jac Haudenschild would make some things happen for himself and actually got Becker for the final spot on the podium as the Roseville, CA driver capped his night with a fourth place finish.
Amidst a wild and crazy night, Becker made some big headway in the race for the SCCT Championship and sits just 13 markers back of the top spot heading into the season finale on November 2ndat Stockton Dirt Track.
