PETERSEN MEDIA- Back in action with Van Lare Motorsports on Saturday night at Antioch Speedway, Sean Becker kept his podium streak alive with the team as he recorded a third-place finish.
“First and foremost, it was an overwhelmingly great feeling to have Jim Van Lare back at the track healthy and happy,” Sean Becker said. “His passion and dedication to this sport goes unparalleled, and I only wish I could have rewarded him with a win but unfortunately I just wasn’t good enough on this night.”
Checking in at Antioch Speedway with 25 cars in the pit area, ‘The Shark’ would find himself on the outside front row of his heat race aboard the Pro Aggregate/All About Fire Protection/Bianchi Farms backed No. 5v.
Needing to finish inside the Top-Three to transfer directly into the feature event, Becker would handle the task at hand by way of finishing second. Moving into the feature event, the Roseville, CA driver would take the green from the fourth row.
With a lot of moisture still in the surface when the green flag was displayed, Becker was very methodical in his moves as he worked around the revamped Antioch Speedway.
Working his way into the Top-Five, “The Shark” continue his attack as he soon found himself in the top three battling the likes of Colby Johnson, Chase Majdic, and Chase Johnson.
A late restart gave the leaders open track to duke it out for the win, and when the checkered flag was displayed to the field, Becker came home with another podium finish by way of his third-place effort.
“I really want to thank everyone who came and helped out in our pit to relieve Jim of as much stress as possible,” Becker added. “I also want to throw a shout out to Antioch Speedway. They’ve got a lot of good, motivated people putting in a ton of work upgrading and improving the track. They are definitely headed in the right directly, and I will be looking forward to getting back there this season.”
Becker and Van Lare Motorsports would like to thank Pro Aggregate, All About Fire Protection, Bianchi Farms, Shark Racing Engines, CCI, Van Lare Steering Repair, and Triple X Race Co. for their support in 2020.
