Becker Comes Up Just Short in Photo Finish at Silver Dollar Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA- Friday night at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA, Sean Becker came so very close to picking up the Tyler Wolf Memorial win, but a close finish saw the Roseville, CA driver come up just .192 seconds short of victory.

“Dan Menne and these guys continue to work really hard to give me a fast race race,” Sean Beker said. “We continue to time in, and race better each week, unfortunately I haven’t been able to close any of these deals out.”

Taking part in Friday night’s penultimate point race at Silver Dollar Speedway that has been dubbed the Tyler Wolf Memorial over the last few years, Becker kicked things off by timing the Mike’s Hard Lemonade/Cherry Street Mini Storage/Menne Ranch Hay, Inc. No. 75 entry in second fastest in qualifying time trials.

Lining up in the second row of his heat race, Becker would finish in the fourth position, which would be good enough to lock him into the nightly redraw where the three pill placed him in the second row for the 25-lap feature event.

When the Tyler Wolf Memorial feature came alive, Becker would settle into the third spot as he applied early pressure to Mason Moore. On the fifth lap, Becker would get by Moore to take over the second spot as he then set his sights on DJ Netto who had jumped out to the early lead.

On a well-prepared Silver Dollar Speedway surface, Becker was strong in his pursuit of the race lead. Continuing to run in the second position, Becker would use a lap 18 restart to his advantage, as he was able to hang with the leader in the closing laps.

On the 20th circuit, Becker would power his way to the race lead. Continuing to lead the way, Becker would take the white flag as the leader, but behind him things were shaping up to get exciting.

Coming out of turn four, Sean Becker and Kyle Hirst would drag race to the finish line, but Becker would come up just .192 seconds short and would finish in the second position.

“It is frustrating to not be able to give this team the wins that they deserve, but as fast as we have been as of late, I am confident we will start picking some off very soon,” Becker added.

Becker would like to thank Mike’s Hard Lemonade, Cherry Street Mini Storage, Menne Ranch Hay Inc., Astro Titanium,, Hunt’s Race World, Molecule, Shaver Racing Engines, FK Rod Ends, K&N, Pioneer Auto Body, and The Joie of Seating for their support in 2017.
