PETERSEN MEDIA- Though his season has not been full of wins as he would have hoped, Sean Becker will look to lock up his fourth consecutive Silver Dollar Speedway Track Championship, fifth overall, this coming Friday night on the heels of a fourth place finish at the Speedway.
“We have been struggling to get over the hump to pick up some wins, but we have been very consistent this year, and are in a great spot going into this Friday’s regular season finale at the Silver Dollar Speedway,” Becker said.
Timing his Mike’s Hard Lemonade/Cherry Street Mini Storage/Menne Ranch Hay Inc. No. 75 machine in fourth fastest on Friday night, the driver known as ‘The Shark’ would finish fourth during heat race action.
Moving into the feature event, the Roseville, CA resident would like the Astro Titanium/Ponybracket.com/Hunt’s Race World backed entry up in the second row for the 25-lap A Main event.
When the green flag dropped on the event, Becker would shoot into the third spot as he chased after the lead duo of Jason Statler and Carson Macedo. Holding down the third spot, Becker would soon feel pressure from Silver Dollar Speedway rival, Andy Forsberg as the duo battled for the third spot.
With Forsberg getting the spot, Becker would hold tough and hang right with Forsberg as he battled for his spot back on the podium. In the closing laps, Forsberg would get away from Becker and he would hold on to the fourth spot as he took the checkered flag.
“I really have to thank my guys for continuing to give me a great car,” Becker said. “We are in a good spot going into this weekend’s race and hopefully we can close the championship out and win the race in the same night.”
Becker would like to thank Mike’s Hard Lemonade, Cherry Street Mini Storage, Menne Ranch Hay Inc., Astro Titanium, Ponybracket.com, Hunt’s Race World, Molecule, Shaver Racing Engines, FK Rod Ends, and K&N for their support in 2015.
