PETERSEN MEDIA- Returning to the seat of the Bjork Motorsports No. 7B on Saturday night, Sean Becker and team made the trip to Petaluma Speedway to battle with the KWS/NARC and Becker came home with a fourth place finish.
“Overall, it was a very solid night for the Bjork Motorsports team’ Sean Becker said. “The team got the car better each time we hit the track, I just wish I could have given the m a podium finish.”
With 18 cars checked into the pit area for the series’ second visit of the season to Petaluma Speedway, Becker got the night underway by timing the Bjork Construction/Kaeding Performance backed No. 7B in 10th fastest in time trials.
Lining up in the second row of his heat race, Becker was able to move into second before using a late move to take over the top spot and lock himself into the Sunnyvalley Bacon Dash.
Lining up third in the Dash, Becker finished fourth and put the Brad Bumgarner prepared No. 7B in the second row of the 30-lap feature event.
When the race came to life, Becker hung in the mix as he battled up front and kept his machine well inside the Top-Five. Battling with the likes of Dominic Scelzi, Justin Sanders, and Corey Day, Becker jockeyed for position as the field fought for real estate around the Petaluma Speedway gumbo.
Getting up into third late in the feature event, Becker then felt more pressure from the youngster, Corey Day. Battling with Day for the final spot on the podium, Day got by and dropped Becker back to fourth.
Briefly falling to fifth, Becker was able to reclaim fourth as he chased after Day. Unable to get back on the podium in the closing stanzas of the ‘A’, Becker capped his night off with a fourth-place finish.
“I needed to clean a few things up on my end, and that cost us a podium,” Becker said. “I am excited to get right back to work with this team on Saturday night in Watsonville, CA.”
BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-15, Wins-0, Top 5’s- 3, Top-10’s- 11
ON TAP: Becker and Bjork Motorsports will follow the series to Watsonville, CA on Saturday night for the Howard Kaeding Classic.
