Becker Looks To Rebound During Chico Double Header

PETERSEN MEDIA- Sean Becker is quick to tell you that he simply hates ‘DNF’s’. Following an early restart on Friday night at the Marysville Raceway, Becker was collected in an incident that has left him very eager to return to action this coming weekend at the Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA.

“I absolutely hate DNF’s, and although it’s a part of racing it doesn’t help my stomach feel any better,” Becker said. “On the other hand, we had a good night going up until then, and I really have to thank Dan Menne and his daughter Becca for everything they did for me this weekend.”

Taking on the Civil War Series during their season opening event, Becker timed the Mike’s Hard Lemonade/Menne Ranch Hay Inc./Cherry Street Mini Storage No. 75 machine in ninth fastest, before he absolutely dominated his heat race.

Pulling the one pill for the dash redraw, Becker did not get the jump he was looking for in the dash, and actually slipped back to the fourth spot, where he would go on to finish.

Lining up in the second row of the feature event, Becker raced inside the top-five during the early stages of the event, as he battled with the likes of Dominic Scelzi, and Matt Peterson.

A caution on the eighth lap of the race brought on a double file restart, and on the ensuing restart, Becker’s machine received contact to the rear resulting in him spinning, and collecting another car.

Making a trip to the work area, Becker and his team would be unable to make repairs, and his night was over.

“To say the night was disappointing would be an understatement,” he added. “Unfortunately cars got bunched up on a restart, and we got spun from behind, and that was that. I know we are all looking forward to two nights of racing at the Silver Dollar Speedway to show what this team is capable of.”

Becker would like to thank Mike’s Hard Lemonade, Cherry Street Mini Storage, Menne Ranch Hay Inc., Astro Titanium,, Shaver Racing Engines, FK Rod Ends, and K&N for their support in 2015.

2015 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts- 3, Wins- 0, Top 5’s- 2, Top 10’s- 2
