Becker Overcomes Adversity at Silver Dollar Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA- Sean Becker and his Menne Motorsports team overcame adversity on Friday night and scored a third place finish at the Silver Dollar Speedway.

After losing an engine in a big way during heat race competition, Jim Richardson offered his car to the Menne Motorsports team for the feature event, and after working feverishly, Becker was able to put together a great run.

“It was a devastating night for our team as we lost our only 410ci engine in a big way,” Becker said. “We have five 410ci races left on our schedule, so we are not sure what we will do at this time.”

Timing the Mike’s Hard Lemonade/Cherry Street Mini Storage/Menne Ranch Hay Inc. No. 75 machine in third quickest in time trials, Becker would experience terminal issues under the hood during his heat race.

“Jim Richardson was the first person to our trailer, and he offered us his entire car for our use, and this team cannot thank him enough for his sacrifice,” Becker added.

With his crew working hard to get things switched over to Richardson’s machine, Becker and company would make the call for the feature event as he lined up in the 11th spot.

On a racy Silver Dollar Speedway surface, Becker was able to make the best of a bad night, as he charged his way forward and finished third on Friday night.

“Our focus now is figuring out what we can do to move forward long term,” Becker said. “I want to race with Dan and Cindy Menne as long as I can, and we do not want to do anything that will jeopardize that for a short term fix. I also want to say how overwhelmed I am week after week the camaraderie and support of the racing community continually exhibits. I hate that it was needed for us, but I am very thankful for all of the support we received in a very trying moment in our season.”

Becker would like to thank Mike’s Hard Lemonade, Cherry Street Mini Storage, Menne Ranch Hay Inc., Astro Titanium,, Hunt’s Race World, Molecule, Shaver Racing Engines, FK Rod Ends, and K&N for their support in 2015.
