Becker Seventh at Placerville Speedway with Monhoff Racing

PETERSEN MEDIA- Saturday night at Placerville Speedway, Sean Becker reunited with Dan Monhoff and picked up a seventh-place finish during Fan Appreciation night.
“It took us a little bit to get up to speed, but after our heat race performance I had a lot of confidence going into the feature event,” Sean Becker said. “Unfortunately, it took me too long to find a groove to get moving forward, and with the race going nonstop that hindered our finish a little.”
A total of 27 cars packed into Placerville Speedway’s pit area on Saturday night for the track’s first 360ci event since early June. Becker opened the night up by timing the M&M Structures backed No. 35 in 14th.
With his qualifying time and the car count, Becker found himself on the pole of his heat race needing to pick up the win to vastly improve his starting position in the impending feature event.
Getting the jump when the Ron Stahl green flag was displayed to the field, Becker never faltered as he powered his way to the important win, and earned a place in the nightly redraw.
Drawing the vaunted eight, Becker took the green flag from the fourth row on a track that was extremely slick but did offer some moisture around the bottom groove.
When the feature event went green, Becker was on the prowl as he searched around the speedway looking for a way to work his way forward.
Slipping back to 10th, Becker continued to fight as he took over ninth on the sixth lap. Settling into a line that was working for him, Becker slowly picked up a few more positions as he took over eighth on the 10th lap and then moved into seventh with just three laps to go in the race.
With the race ultimately going nonstop, there were no restart opportunities in the 6 minute and 46 second affair as Becker took the checkered flag with a seventh place finish.
“I did lose a few positions early as I searched around the track, but we were able to pick up a handful of positions and salvage a decent finish,” Becker said. “Thanks to Dan Monhoff and his team for the opportunity to get a night in.”
BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-13, Wins-0, Top 5’s- 2, Top-10’s- 9
