PETERSEN MEDIA: After two tune-up weeks in the Central Valley leading up to Friday night’s Peter Murphy Classic, Ben Worth was pleased with how the night went as he continues to progress and gain confidence behind the wheel of a winged 360ci sprint car.

“It was another good night of seat time,” Ben Worth said. “The Tiner-Hirst guys do a great job for me, and I thank them for working so well with me to get me up to speed.”

In one of his biggest tests to date in a sprint car, Worth would time the THD No. 94TH machine in fifth quickest in his time trial group and that would line the Coalinga, CA driver up in the third row of his heat race.

On a very slick Thunderbowl Raceway, Worth would find himself battling for the final transfer position into the feature event as he searched the Thunderbowl Raceway surface for traction.

Falling back to finish eighth, Worth would head off to the ‘B’ where he would have one final shot to race his way into the feature.

Taking the green flag from the 10th starting position, Worth would get stronger with each and every lap. Venturing up to the Thunderbowl Raceway cushion, Worth would make up some ground as he got into seventh and closed in on the group of cars battling for fourth.

Running out of time, Worth would end his night with a seventh place finish in the ‘B’.

“It was a really tough field of cars, but it was a good measuring stick,” Worth said. “I can’t wait to get back to racing with these guys again.”

The Tiner Hirst Enterprise Racing team would like to thank Tiner Hirst Enterprise, Larry Davis Farms, GP Development, Wright Process Systems, Fisher Racing Engines, SRP, Wilwood, XYZ Machine, DMI, HRP, Sway Away, Kevin Sharrah Designs, Prior Engineering, System One Pro Ignition, Sweet Manufacturing, Sway Away, Schoenfeld, Warehouse Paint, and Roseville Precision for their continued support.

2019 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-2, Wins-0, Top 5’s-0, Top 10’s-2
