PETERSEN MEDIA- Following a frustrating Friday night at Ocean Speedway, Ryan Bernal and Tarlton Motorsports put together a good run on Saturday night as Bernal picked up an eighth place finish with the King of the West Series.
“If I can get qualifying figured out things will be a lot easier for us,” Bernal said. “We have a fast car, and we race well, now I just need to help us out by getting us timed in.”
Saturday night, Bernal would get the night started off by timing the Tarlton and Son, Inc./Pabco Gypsum/Executive Auto Sales backed No. 21 entry timed in 19thquickest amongst the 34 cars checked in for action.
Able to transfer through his het race, the Hollister, CA driver would finish fourth which placed him 19thon the starting grid for the 30-lap HK Classic finale.
On a racy Ocean Speedway, Bernal would continue to work his way forward just as he did during heat race competition. Slicing and dicing his way through the field, Bernal would find himself inside the Top-10 and looking for more and laps clicked off.
Abel to work his way up into the eighth position, Bernal would cap his night with quite the charge as he also turned in the fastest lap of the 30-lap affair as he continue to sit atop the KWS point standings during his first full season on tour.
