Blaine Craft Caught Up in B Main Accident at Placerville Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA: With Mother Nature intervening again last week, Blaine Craft was finally able to return to Placerville Speedway this past Saturday night. Though he tore some equipment up in a wild ‘B’ Main, Craft was pleased to get back in the seat and continue to adapt to a winged 360ci sprint car.

“Saturday was another night to learn, and I know a lot of these nights are going to be big learning curves,’ Blain Craft said. “With Vern Morrison out of town, I was lucky enough to have Ryan Robinson’s help for the night which was huge for me.”

With 32 cars on hand Saturday night for the track’s second points paying event of the season, Craft timed the Moxie Mechanical/Kuzinich Custom Homes/All Phase Plumbing No. 97 entry in 15th fastest in his qualifying group.

Lining up in the fourth row of his heat race, the Elk Grove, CA driver worked around the slick ¼ mile speedway as he picked up a seventh place finish which put him in the sixth row of the 12-lap ‘B’ Main.

Looking forward to getting 12 more laps under his belt, Craft headed out for the semi, hopeful to earn a transfer berth but the goal was to run all 12 laps and continue to get more seat time.

The Saturday night “B” Main ended up riddled with trouble. With the first two starts being negated to incidents, Craft picked up a couple of early positions before another incident on lap one collected him. Tearing up a bit of equipment, Craft’s night came to an early end.

“I do feel like I got better from hot laps to qualifying, to our heat, which to me is a good night at this stage in the season,’ Craft added. “It is unfortunate that we ended up getting torn up, but we will rebuild and get back ready for our next race.”

Craft would like to thank Moxie Mechanical, Kuzinich Custom Homes, and All Phase Plumbing for their support in 2024.
