PETERSEN MEDIA: Putting the finishing touches on a very strong 2020 season at Marysville Raceway, Blake Carrick would record another Top-5 finish at the northern California facility by way of a fourth-place finish during Saturday night’s Spooktacular event.
“We had a good night, and I had another good car, but I just made too many mistakes in the ‘A’,” Blake Carrick said. “This week we will be in Stockton, CA and hopefully we can put together another good run though it has been a while since we have been there.”
Taking part in Marysville Raceway’s 2020 season finale, Carrick had a very strong start to the night that saw him time in third fastest in time trials amongst the 33 cars checked in for battle.
Running second in his heat race from his second row starting position, Carrick would pull the eight in the redraw and line the CVC/Cemex/Interstate Oil machine up in the fourth row.
In a race that was mired by stoppages, Carrick would work his way through the fray and into the Top-5. Battling with the likes of Shane Hopkins, and Nick Larsen, Carrick would get up into the third position.
With a couple of chances to improve his track position, Carrick would make a couple of mistakes in traffic that would see him lose a spot, as he fell back to fourth where he would go on to finish.
“Good result, but it should have been better,” Carrick said. “Couple things to clean up on my end, but excited to try again this weekend in Stockton, CA.”
