Blevins Gets Busy 2017 Season Underway With Civil War Series and Sprint Car Challenge Tour

PETERSEN MEDIA: 2017 will see Cottonwood, CA driver Chelsea Blevins spend much of her season racing in California. After mechanical issues slowed her scheduled opening race back in early March, Blevins took on both the Civil War Series and the Sprint Car Challenge Tour over the weekend.
“Getting to these tracks with these tough fields is a huge learning experience for me,” Chelsea Blevins said. “I am trying to have fun and learn as much as I can each night.”
Friday night would see Blevins and her team check into Silver Dollar Speedway to take on the Civil War Series. With 26 cars on hand, Blevins would time her BC Motorsports/Blevins Commercial/Pizza Factory backed sprinter in 20th fastest in qualifying time trials.
Finishing eighth in her heat, Blevins would be forced into the night’s ‘B’ Main event. During the semi, Blevins’ machine came to life and she looked very comfortable on the famed ¼ mile speedway. Though turning in some great laps, Blevins would be collected in a couple of other drivers’ incidents and would finish seventh and her night would come to an end.
Traveling to Antioch Speedway on Saturday night to take on the new Sprint Car Challenge Tour in the series’ first ever event that featured a stout 58 cars. With group based qualifying in place on this night, Blevins would time in 7th fastest in her group.
Lining up seventh in her heat race, Blevins would finish in the sixth spot and be forced into one of the night’s twin ‘C’ main events.
Turning in a nice performance in the ‘C’, Blevins would not quite make up enough ground to transfer into the ‘B’, as her night would come to an end with a fifth place finish.
“It’s good to get a lot of experience with this tough field of cars,” Blevins added. “It’s a great feeling to be a part of an amazing sport, and I can’t wait to get back in the car at Placerville Speedway in two weeks.”
Chelsea and the Blevins Racing team would like to thank BC Motorsports, Blevins Commercial, and Pizza factory for their continued support.
ON TAP: Chelsea Blevins will return to action with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour on April 15th in Placerville, CA.
