Bubba DeCaires 11th at Placerville Speedway on July 4th; Set For Return Trip Tomorrow Night

PETERSEN MEDIA: Spending the 4th of July competing at Placerville Speedway, Bubba DeCaires rebounded from a late miscue and finished 11th after battling inside the Top-10 during much of the feature event.
“We had a lot of speed on Saturday night, but I made a mistake on the cushion late that ultimately saw us bring out a caution,” DeCaires said. “We ended up 11th, but it is a little frustrating because our speed is there.”
Tuesday night, DeCaires checked in at Placerville Speedway and timed the Thompson’s Toyota/Morrison Concrete/MaxSells.Net backed No. 94 in eight fastest in qualifying time trials.
Lining up on the front row of his heat race, the Elk Grove, CA driver held the spot as his second-place finish lined him up in the fifth row of the 25-lap feature event on a very slick surface.
Able to avoid some of the early carnage that happened when the race came to life, DeCaires worked his way up to eighth after falling back to 10th once the race came to life.
A couple of restarts were unkind to the youngster as he was shuffled back to 10th in the latter stages of the race.
Working to get back his lost spots in the race’s closing laps, DeCaires got over the cushion in turns one and two and as he gathered his machine back up he made contact with the leader and spun to a stop atop turns three and four.
Going back to 14th for a green-white-checkered finish, DeCaries rebounded in a hurry as he got back to 11th when the Ron Stahl checkered flag was displayed to the field.
“I’m happy it is a short week and we have a chance to get right back up to Placerville Speedway,” DeCaries added. “I’m happy with how our car feels, and now I just need to clean a few things up.”
DeCaires would like to thank Thompson’s Toyota, Morrison Concrete, MaxSells.Net, Wion’s Body Shop, and El Dorado Hills Landscaping for their support.
BY THE NUMBERS: Races-10, Wins-0, Top 5’s-1, Top 10’s-3
