PETERSEN MEDIA: Bubba DeCaires continues to adapt to full sized sprint cars, and on Saturday night he scored an eighth place finish with the C&H Veteran Enterprises Hunt Magnetos Wingless Series at Placerville Speedway with Brian Sperry Racing.
“I really have to thank Brian Sperry for all of his hard work on Saturday,” Bubba DeCaries said. “It was pretty cool to have so many different opportunities this season.”
Going topless at Placerville Speedway on Saturday night, DeCaires would over come a spark plug issue to time the C&H Veteran Enterprises/Benic Enterprise/Santomauro backed No. 51 entry in 17th fastest in qualifying time trials.
Lining up sixth in his heat race, DeCaires would take a liking to the bottom side of the speedway as he was able to pick up a position and finish fifth and move into the feature event.
Lining up 14th for the ‘A’ Main, DeCaires would continue to work the bottom as he hit his marks lap after lap. Taking a page out of his dad’s book, DeCaires smooth cat fish like style would soon see him work his way inside the Top-10.
Continuing to get better lap after lap, DeCaires would take the checkered flag with an eighth place finish.
“I thought it went well,” DeCaires said of Saturday night. “We could work the bottom really well and we were able to make up ground. Again, it is all about laps and Brian Sperry is awesome for allowing me to learn and lay down some laps in his car.”
