(PETERSEN MEDIA- Watsonville, CA)- Friday night in Watsonville, CA, Bud Kaeding would grab the race lead on the sixth circuit and never look back as he went on to record his second Ocean Sprints pres. by Taco Bravo win of the season which marked his 14th career triumph at the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds facility.

Pole sitter Cole Macedo led the field to green, and would set a nice pace during the race’s opening five laps as he kept some talented drivers at bay. On the race’s sixth lap, Macedo would get a little loose off of turn two and it would allow Kaeding to surge past him and over take command of the race.

Kaeding would quickly open up a sizeable lead until the race’s only stoppage came on the ninth circuit as a spin turned into a pile up and the red flag would be needed.

As field re-racked behind Kaeding, the Campbell, CA driver would jump on the loud pedal and open up a sizeable lead as the race for second would heat up behind him.

Macedo would continue to run in second but local standout, Justin Sanders was coming after the spot with a head of steam. The duo would wage war on each other for second, but Macedo would keep the spot as the leaders found themselves in traffic.

Race leader, Bud Kaeding, would have no issues in lapped traffic and would leave Macedo no wiggle room to make a bid for the top spot. Leading the field to the checkered flag, Kaeding would grab the win over Macedo, Sanders, Kyle Offill, and last week’s winner, Brad Furr.

Kaeding would open the night up by earning Ray Scheidts Electric Quick Time Honors with a lap of 11.633 seconds and Justin Sanders and Koen Shaw would each win heat races. As previously mentioned, Cole Macedo would be the pole sitter for the feature event by way of his Dash win.

Other awards handed out Friday night were the Beer Optics Hard Luck Award which went to Tucker Worth as he was an innocent bystander in the lap nine incident and it resulted in him getting upside down and ending his night, and Jeremy Chisum earned High Five Pizza Hard Chargers honors.

2018 Winners- Justin Sanders (March 30th), Bud Kaeding (April 13th), Justin Sanders (April 27th), Brad Furr (May 4th), Bud Kaeding (May 11th).
