C&M Motorsports Records Pair of Top-10’s

PETERSEN MEDIA- Both Tony Gualda and Andy Forsberg climbed aboard the potent C&M Motorsports No. 7c over the weekend, and both drivers would have success as Gualda finished 10th on Friday night with the SCCT, and Forsberg would podium on Saturday night at Petaluma Speedway.

“It was a really good night for my first time in the C&M Motorsports car, and my first time at Thunderbowl Raceway,” Gualda said. “I was quick time in my group, won my heat, and made up some lost ground in the feature and got a Top-10. I have to thank Cody and Mandi for the opportunity to drive their car.”

With 51 cars on hand Friday night in Tulare, CA, Gualda would time the PitStopUSA/Autism Awareness/Pacific Highway Rentals backed No. 7c machine in fastest in his qualifying group before racing his way to the win during heat race action.

Moving into the Pole Shuffle, the young Gualda would end up seventh, which placed him in the fourth row for the 35-lap feature event. When the race came to life much of the field would use the low side of the speedway, and the opening laps would see Gualda get pushed out of the way and he would lose several spots on the track.

As the race got going, Gualda would move up to the often intimidating high side, and come into his own. Laying down some impressive laps on the Thunderbowl wall, Gualda would work his way forward and take the checkered flag with a 10th place finish.

Making the trip to Petaluma Speedway on Saturday night, Andy Forsberg would re-assume the driving duties for the first PitStopUSA Shootout race of the season. Timing in second fastest in qualifying time trials, Forsberg would finish second in his heat race.

Finding himself in the fourth row of the feature event, a rare slicked off Petaluma Speedway would be a little challenging to find grip on. Able to make some things happen over the course of the race, Forsberg would work his way into the top-five as he chased after Petaluma favorites, Geoff Ensign and Bradley Terrell.

A couple of late restarts would give Forsberg some open track to attack the lead duo as he had taken over the third spot, but on this night he would come up just a little short and end his night with a third place finish.

“My guys rolled out a new car tonight, and it took us a little bit to get used to it, and we are still working on getting it better,” Andy Forsberg said. “We didn’t have anything for the lead duo, but I am confident we will be up front battling again this weekend. My guys work very hard on these cars, and I thank them for all they do for me.”

The C&M Motorsports team would like to thank PitStopUSA, Autism Awareness, Pacific Highway Rentals, PT Shocks, Swartz Diesel, 51 Fifty Energy Drink, and Velocity Race Gear and all of their product sponsors for their continued support.
