Carrick Sixth at Silver Dollar Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA: Returning to action over the weekend in both Chico, CA and Placerville, CA, Blake Carrick’s weekend would be highlighted by his sixth place effort at Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night.

“We had pretty good speed both nights, and it was good to get a good finish in Chico, CA,” Blake Carrick said. “Saturday night we were in a good position to start the race, I just got a little out of shape at the start and contact ensued and we got upside down.”

Friday night in Chico, CA Carrick would time the CVC/Cemex/Interstate Oil backed entry in fourth quickest, which locked him into the fast dash. Finishing second in the Dash placed the Lincoln, CA driver in the sixth starting position for the upcoming 30-lap feature event.

From his sixth starting position, Carrick would make a couple of swift moves early in the race as he would soon find himself in second, chasing after Kyle Offill as Andy Forsberg and Sean Becker chased after him.

Holding down the second position, Carrick would make costly mistake that would see him get over the edge of the speedway. Going to the back of the pack, Carrick would carve his way forward to get back up to the sixth position when the checkered flag was displayed to the field.

Traveling to Placerville Speedway on Saturday, Carrick would wind up 16thquickest on the speed charts in time trials, which would put him on the front row of his heat race.  Able to pick up the win, Carrick would move into the redraw where the two pill put him on the front row of the 25-lap feature event.

Called for jumping the initial start, Carrick would move back one row. Getting into the cushion a little too hard in turns three and four on the opening lap, Carrick would get a little sideways and as he tried to throttle out, contact would ensue and he would get upside down.

Able to restart with a beaten and battered Carrick Motorsports entry, Carrick would do all he could as he came home with a 17thplace finish.

“Thanks to my guys for all of their hard work, and for getting me back out on Saturday night,” Carrick said. “Looking forward to Ocean Speedway this weekend for the Kaeding Classic.”

Blake Carrick would like to thank CVC, Cemex, Interstate Oil, Conti, Harris and Sloan, Emerald, Timberworks Construction, and Arai for their continued support
