(Petersen Media) Carson Macedo pocketed his first win of 2015 on Saturday night as he cashed in at the Placerville Speedway during the 10th Annual Mark Forni Classic with the Civil War Series presented by Flowmaster.

“This is unbelievable,” Macedo said in victory lane. “I had a great car, we were in the right place at the right time, and here we are in victory lane.”

With 29 cars at the Placerville Speedway on Saturday night, Macedo timed the Elite Landscape Construction /Tarlton and Son Inc./Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino No. 21x machine in sixth fastest.

Starting in the second row of his heat race, Macedo would have his elbows up as he made a late race move to pick up the heat win, and earn a spot in the night’s Dash.

Finishing third in the Dash, the Lemoore, CA driver would grid the field in the second row for the 30-lap feature event. When the race came to life, a pair of early stoppages would slow the pace as Macedo ran in the third spot and chased after Cory Eliason and Sean Becker.

Getting into the second spot on a lap 18 restart, Macedo would go to work on Becker. As the battle for the lead heated up, Macedo would capitalize on a Sean Becker mistake and take command on the race on the 20th lap.

The final 10 laps of the race saw Macedo fend off King of the West rivals, Jonathan Allard and Kyle Hirst as he went on to pick up his first win of the 2015 season.

“It is cool to win such a big race, and I could not be happier for this entire Tarlton Racing team,” Macedo said. “We have had some tough luck the last few weeks, so it feels great to have some things go our way, and score a win.  I have to thank my guys for all of their hard work all night.”

Tarlton Racing would like to thank Elite Landscape Construction, Tarlton and Son, Inc., Executive Auto Sales, Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino, Pabco Gypsum, Bandy and Associates, All Star Performance, Corporate America Investments, and BG Lubricants for their support through the 2015 season.

ON TAP: Macedo will be back in action on Friday night at the Keller Auto Speedway on Friday night.
