PETERSEN MEDIA- Fresh off of an extended season in Australia, Carson Macedo returned stateside and climbed aboard a potent Tarlton Motorsports entry to battle the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series on Friday night in Tulare, CA. Macedo was able to flex his muscle in front of his local crowd as he recorded a fifth place finish.
“Friday night went really well, and I had a great racecar,” Macedo noted. “I have to thank Paul Baines and the guys for working hard all night long.”
Macedo got off to a great start as he timed the Elite Landscape Construction/Tarlton and Son, Inc./Executive Auto Sales No. 21x entry in sixth quickest in his qualifying group with over 40 entrants packed into the pit area.
Lining up in the second row of his heat race, the Lemoore, CA driver would chase after Brad Sweet for a spot in the Dash, but he would come up just short as his third place finish would still advance him directly into the 35-lap ‘A’ Main event.
Taking the green flag from the 12th starting position, the Lemoore, CA driver would put on a show as he turned in some impressive laps around the daunting Thunderbowl Raceway.
Going tow to tow with some of the country’s best, Macedo soon found himself inside the Top-Five and battling with fellow Californian, Dominic Scelzi.
Continuing to look for more, Macedo and Sceliz would duke it out over the final laps for the fourth spot as both closed in on third running Donny Schatz. Running some exciting laps with traffic sprinkled in the mix, Macedo would close the night out with a hard fought fifth place finish.
“I can’t say enough about this team,” Macedo added. “They did a phenomenal job all night long and we had a great car in the ‘A’. I really have to thank Tommy Tarlton and Tom Tarlton for the opportunity to run some races out West.”
