PETERSEN MEDIA- Making the trip to Ventura Raceway for the Turkey Night Grand Prix, Carson Macedo finished fifth in the Tarlton Motorsports Midget following an impressive charge from 21st to finish sixth on a very heavy and rough racing surface.

“In the end, our trip ended up being really successful,” Carson Macedo said. “In Sprint Car action we struggled on Wednesday, but Friday night in the feature we were really good. In the Midget, it was another good run for us in a really strong Tarlton Motorsports car.”

Wednesday night in Sprint Car action, Macedo’s fourth place finish in his heat and a seventh-place result in a qualifier set him up for a Thursday night ‘B’ Main starting position, as he would look for one final shot to qualify for the ‘A’.

Mother Nature would intervene on Thursday and push the finale to Friday night, and another rain shower would scrap the Friday ‘B’ and put Macedo in the 21st starting position in the 41-lap feature event.

With the track extremely rough and heavy from all the weather, the Lemoore, CA driver would saddle up on the ‘cowboy up’ track and put on quite a show. Bouncing threw ruts lap after lap, Macedo never wavered as he continued to work his way through the field.

When the 41-lap affair came to a close, Macedo would take the checkered flag in the sixth position and earned the Saldana Racing Products Hard Charger award for his efforts.

Also competing in USAC Midget action on Friday night aboard the Tarlton and Son, Inc./Complete Parts and Equipment Solutions entry, the 2019 Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year with the World of Outlaws timed in 10thquickest of the 68 entrants and locked himself directly into the 98-lap feature event.

Lining up 10th on the starting grid for the prestigious feature event, Macedo would continue to work his way forward just as he did in Sprint Car action. Continuing to move around the Ventura Raceway, and find his way around some of the best in Midget racing, Macedo would cap off a long couple of days with a fifth-place finish.

“I can’t say enough about the Tarlton Motorsports team,” Macedo said. “They put together a really strong Midget, and we had speed each night we were able to race. Thanks to Tom and Tommy Tarlton for such great equipment, Paul and Tyrone for working their butt’s off, Justin Insley for his support, and Sean Dyson for helping us out a ton and letting us use his Toyota Engine.”

Tarlton Motorsports would like to thank Tarlton and Son, Inc., Executive Auto Sales, Pabco Gypsum, Bandy and Associates, All Star Performance, and BG Lubricants for their support through the 2019 season.
