PETERSEN MEDIA- For the second weekend in a row, Carson Macedo showed great speed with the ‘Greatest Show on Dirt’ as he timed in well, and recorded 12th and 13th place finishes in Stockton, CA.
“We timed in well both nights, and were in good position during the feature event both nights, but the driver got in the way of a good car, and made some mistakes,” Carson Macedo noted.
During the FVP Western Spring Shootout opener on Saturday night, Macedo timed the Tarlton and Son Inc./WFO Apparel/Executive Auto No. 21x machine in sixth fastest, before finishing fourth in his heat race.
Missing out on the night’s dash, Macedo would line his machine up in the fifth row for the 30-lap feature event on the slicking off surface.
Battling inside the Top-10 during most of the night, Macedo would find himself battling with Rico Abreu, and good friend DJ Netto. Near the halfway point, Macedo would make contact with another competitor, and some minor damage to Macedo’s machine would give him some fits during the second half of the race.
Doing what he could with a bit of a banged up racecar, Macedo would hang on to a 12th place finish at the stripe.
“We were pretty good on Saturday night, but we bent the Jacobs Ladder, and that caused some handling issues,” Macedo added.
Back to work on Sunday night, Macedo timed in 14th quickest during qualifying time trials before running third in his heat race.
By way of his heat race finish, the Tarlton Racing driver would transfer directly into the feature event, as he rolled off for the 30-lap race out of the seventh row. On another slick and racy surface, Macedo would show patience as he worked his way forward as he looked to crack the Top-10.
With the closing laps plagued by restarts, Macedo admitted to making a couple of mistakes, that resulted in him slipping back to finish in the 13th spot.
“Huge thanks to Paul Baines and everyone who works on this car,” Macedo said. “They have given me a fast car almost every night so far, and I have to do a better job of performing. We were looking good there for a minute, but I just made too many mistakes on a couple restarts.”
Tarlton Racing would like to thank Elite Landscape Construction, Tarlton and Son, Inc., WFO Apparel, Executive Auto, Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino, Pabco Gypsum, Bandy and Associates, All Star Performance, Corporate America Investments, and BG Lubricants for their support through the 2015 season.
ON TAP: Macedo and his Tarlton Racing team will now follow the World of Outlaws to the Silver Dollar Speedway on Saturday night for the Mini Gold Cup.
