PETERSEN MEDIA- Amidst a torrid battle with Kyle Hirst for the race lead on Saturday night, Carson Macedo would have issues under the hood of his Elite Landscape Construction/Tarlton and Son, Inc./Executive Auto No. 21x machine bring his night to an early end.
“We had such an awesome racecar, and I cannot thank Paul Baines and my guys enough for putting a piece that was capable of winning underneath me on Saturday night,” Carson Macedo said. “Unfortunately it was just not meant to be as we had a mechanical failure knock us out of the race on the 17th lap.”
Hitting the dirt on the track he holds the single lap track record at, Macedo would time his Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino/Pabco Gypsum/Bandy and Associates backed No. 21x machine in third quickest, before finishing fifth during heat race competition.
Moving into the Dash based on his time trial effort, the Lemoore, CA wheelman would find himself with the five-pill thus lining him up in the third row for the six-lap shootout.
A third place finish would put him in the second row for the 30-lap A Main event, and after taking over the second spot on lap eight, Macedo would go to work on the race leader, Kyle Hirst.
A thrilling battle up front would have the two drivers exchanging the top-spot lap after lap. Exiting turn four on the 17th lap, something would go haywire under the hood of Macedo’s entry and he would lose power as he coasted to a stop.
The issue would prove terminal, and Macedo’s night would come to a very disappointing finish.
“It was a heart breaker, for sure,” Macedo added. “We have had some really good speed as of late, and we have another huge show this Saturday night in Placerville, CA that I would love to win for this Tarlton Racing team. The Tarlton Family continues to do so much for me, and I really appreciate everything.”
