PETERSEN MEDIA- Fresh off of a couple of weekends racing on the pavement, Cobble Hill, BC driver, Robbie Price was back on the dirt over the weekend during the Summer Nationals at the Skagit Speedway where a wild last lap on Saturday night would see him finish in the 12th spot.

“We had a rough go on the pavement a few weeks back that was pretty frustrating, and this weekend on dirt almost felt the same,” Price admitted.

Getting his Summer Nationals kicked off on Friday night, the youngster would time the Millstone Heating and Sheet Metal/Tiger Towing/Rod End Supply backed No. 21 machine in 21st fastest in time trials, putting him in an early hole.

Getting into the feature event via the B-Main, Price would attempt to carve his way through the field only to see a spinning car collect him and see his night end with a severely damaged racecar.

Regrouping and checking back into the Skagit Speedway on Saturday night, Price would come out swinging as he laid down a great lap during time trials that saw him record the sixth fastest lap of the night.

Finishing fourth in his heat race, Price would find himself in the second row for the 40-lap Summer Nationals feature event. Getting off to a slow start, Price would drift back to the eighth spot but remained calm knowing the length of the race.

Getting into a groove, Price would begin picking up positions as he worked back into the Top-Five as the race came down the home stretch. Taking over the fourth spot, Price would look to get on the podium with just a few laps left in the event.

On the last lap, Price would look to make a move for the third spot but his machine would get out of shape in turn four collecting a few cars and he would end up finishing in the 12th spot.

“We had a really good car on Saturday night, and I just tried to get one spot better late in the race and it cost us,” Price said. “I hate it for everyone that helps us out, because they worked so hard all weekend long.”

Price and his team would like to thank Millstone Heating and Sheet Metal, Tiger Towing, Rod End Supply, Wildlight Photography, Shark Racing Engines, and Speedmart for their support during the 2016 season.

2016 BY THE NUMBERS- Starts-34, Wins-2, Top-5’s-6, Top 10’s-12
