Chase Majdic Secures Skagit Speedway Top-10 During Maiden Voyage with Cook Motorsports

PETERSEN MEDIA- Getting the nod from Blake Cook last week, California’s Chase Majdic made the trip to Skagit Speedway to pilot the Cook Motorsports No. 22x entry and was able to pick up a 10th place finish during the track’s Mid-Season Championship night.
“I really want to thank Blake Cook and his team for the opportunity to get up to Skagit and run with them,” Chase Majdic said. “I think our night went pretty well considering it was the first time we ran together.”
With 28-cars checked in to the famed Washington dirt track, Majdic had a ton of speed early as he timed the Absolute Plumbing/Cook’s Contracting/CSR Builders backed No. 22x entry in third fastest in qualifying time trials.
Lining up fourth in his heat race, Majdic got a good jump as he settled into the third position which would be vital to earning a berth into the Dash. Maintaining third, Majdic was solidly in the feature event as well as the Dash where he took the green flag from the sixth starting position.
Finishing fifth in the shootout, Majdic lined up in the third row of the feature event. When the race went green, the field would jockey for position on the bottom groove as it was the preferred line on this night.
Not feeling the greatest on the bottom, Majdic opted to search around the speedway after the first 10-laps of the race. Going to the top, Majdic admittedly struggled as he slowly lost a few positions.
Able to keep the Cook Motorsports entry in the Top-10, Majdic closed his night out with a 10th place finish.
“The track was right around the bottom, and I just felt decent there the first few laps so I made the decision to try the top,” Madjic explained. “I really had my hands full on the cushion and we lost a few spots. In retrospect I should have rolled my wing back and got back to the bottom and tried to maintain where we were running at the time. Again, it was a fun night, and I want to again thank the entire Cook team for the opportunity.”
Cook Motorsports would like to thank Absolute Plumbing, Cook’s Contracting, CSR Builders, Shark Racing Engines, Cottage Grove Inn, Primetime Designs, Highline Performance, Les Schwab, and Cascade Pizza for their support.
BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-12, Wins- 0, Top 5’s- 2, Top 10’s-5
ON TAP: Cook Motorsports is TBD on their next race at the time of press.
