Chelsea Blevins Happy With Improvement at Petaluma Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA: Continuing to test herself and learn with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour, Chelsea Blevins was pleased with her improvement with the series on Saturday night in Petaluma, CA.

“I was really happy with how our night went, and felt really good at Petaluma Speedway,” Chelsea Blevins said.

With 49 cars packed into the pit area on Saturday night, the Janesville, CA resident would time her BC Motorsports/Blevins Commercial/Pizza Factory supported No. 1b machine in 11th fastest in her qualifying group.

Starting 11th in her heat race, Blevins would struggle a bit on a stick surface and would finish 11th as she would be forced into the ‘C’ Main.

Finding herself on the front row of the ‘C’, Blevins would not be denied as she had a nice showing in the 12-lap affair. Leading from flag to flag, Blevins would keep the field at bay as she would pick up the win and advance her night into the ‘B’ main.

Moving into the semi, Blevins would have her work cut of for her from the back of the pack. In the early goings of the race, a couple of cars would go flipping in front of her, and with nowhere to go she would get a piece of the action which would result in a sheered of right side board on her top wing.

Making what repairs they could in the work area, Blevins would return to action with the damaged top wing that made her car a bit difficult to maneuver. Able to pick up some positions as the race went on, Blevins would work up to the eighth spot and just miss out on the transfer by two positions.

“My car was really good, and it feels good to beat some good drivers like we did,” Blevins said. “I am really grateful for everyone that helped us out, and I am looking forward to hopefully getting back to racing again this weekend.”

Chelsea and the Blevins Racing team would like to thank BC Motorsports, Blevins Commercial, and Pizza Factory for their continued support.

ON TAP: With plans still up in the air at this time, Blevins is hoping to get to either Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA or Placerville Speedway in Placerville, CA this weekend.
