(PETERSEN MEDIA- Aptos, CA)- After a thrilling season opener last Friday night, the Civil War Series Presented By Flowmaster comes back to life on Saturday night as the series is set to invade the Petaluma Speedway for the first of three stops in 2015.

2014 saw the series put on two action packed shows at the Petaluma Speedway, and coming off a very exciting season opener, anticipation is growing for the series to come back to life.

During the two stops a season ago, Mason Moore was able to fend off a hard charging Colby Copeland to pick up a win, and with a dangerous Forrest fire in the Auburn Foothills last fall,  Petaluma Speedway stepped in as a gracious host, and was treated to another great race as Petaluma car owner, Jim Van Lare scored a very popular win with Colby Copeland at the helm of his potent No. 5v machine.

One week ago, fans were not disappointed during the season opener at the Marysville Raceway. After a pair of cautions slowed the opening eight laps of the feature event, a 22-lap green flag run saw reigning series champion Shane Golobic, track down Colby Wiesz in the F&F No. x1 machine to pick up the win.

Through the field the racing was exceptional as Andy Forsberg and Justin Sanders both worked their way forward from mid-pack to score podium finishes.

With Wiesz showing great speed in the F&F No. x1 machine, they should again have another tough car on the track Saturday night, as Sebastopol, CA driver, Geoff Ensign is scheduled to strap in this weekend.

Another new combination that will be in attendance on Saturday night is three time Petaluma Speedway Track Champion, Alissa Geving, and the Brett Lay Racing team. In 2014 the No. 24b machine was very tough, and pairing with Geving in Petaluma makes this team very much in contention on Saturday night.

Other drivers expected to be on hand Saturday night include Justin Sanders, Steven Tiner, Herman Klein, Matt Peterson, Koen and Kyler Shaw, Mason Moore, Bradley Terrell, Robbie Price, Shawn Wright, and many of the regions top 360ci drivers.

Saturday night the gates are scheduled to open at 4pm with cars on the track for time trial by 5pm. Adult tickets can be purchased for $18, Seniors and Children for $14, and children under five are FREE.

ON TAP: The Civil War Series presented by Flowmaster returns to action on Saturday night at the Petaluma Speedway in Petaluma, CA.
