Cody Lamar 11th at Marysville Raceway
PETERSEN MEDIA- Looking for another strong result at the Marysville Raceway, Cody Lamar would get knocked out of a top five sport in lapped traffic and would be relegated to finishing in the 11th spot.
“We had another really good racecar, but we kind of got snookered in traffic,” Lamar said. “We were running in the Top-Five when a car moved up on us and forced us to spin.”
Timing the Lamar A1 Septic/Joe Hunt Magnetos/NAAKE Suspension No. 9L machine in second fastest on Saturday night, Lamar would go on to pick up the win during his heat race and move into the Top-8 redraw for the feature event.
When the race got underway, Lamar would find himself running in the fifth spot as the laps clicked off.
With the leaders getting into traffic, Lamar would find himself run into a little bit of trouble. Pulling alongside a car he was trying to lap, the car would move up on Lamar and it would force the Rio Linda, CA driver to spin his machine out.
Going to the back of the pack, Lamar would show the speed he has shown all year at the speedway as he would rally back to finish in the 11th spot.
“It wasn’t the result the team deserved, but sometimes things happen in traffic that you can’t control,” Lamar added. “Everyone who helps us out does a great job, and we will look to better our result next time out.”
