PETERSEN MEDIA- Though his results were nowhere near what he had in mind at Placerville Speedway over the weekend, Cody Lamar was pleased with his car and how everything felt and is eager to get back to racing during the two-night Fall Nationals event in Chico, CA.

“I am definitely disappointed with how Placerville went over the weekend, but I felt like our car was really good, and I am excited to try again this weekend at the Fall Nationals,” Cody Lamar said.

Friday night the Sacramento, CA driver timed the A1 Septic/Amsoil/Walker Performance backed No. 9l entry in fifth quickest in his qualifying group which then lined him up in the third row of his heat race.

Slipping back to the eighth spot at the finish, Lamar would find himself in the ‘B’ Main looking for one of just four transfer positions into the feature event. When the B Main came to life, Lamar would begin to chase after a transfer position until a couple of cars got together in front of him.

Forced off the racing surface, Lamar would just opt to take his car back to the pit area and try again on Saturday night.

The Nor-Cal Posse Shootout finale saw Lamar open the night up timing in sixth fastest in time trials. Lining up in the third row of his heat race, Lamar would take the fifth and final transfer position out of the heat and move directly into the 35-lap feature event.

Gridding the field from the 18th starting position, Lamar would have some trouble on the extremely slick racing surface as he would slide over the edge of turn two and come to a stop on the 11th circuit.

Making the restart, Lamar would tag the field from the back of the pack. Continuing to pound the cushion, Lamar would enter three and four against the curb only to see a car get out of shape and all but spin in front of him. Turning right to avoid contact, Lamar’s engine would stall and it would result in his second and final yellow of the race and he would retire to his pit area.

“Thanks to everyone who helps us out,” Lamar said. “We are going to do all we can to better ourselves this weekend.”

Cody and his team would like to thank A1 Septic, Amsoil, Walker Performance Filtration, and Joe Hunt Magnetos for their continued support.

2018 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-20, Wins-0, Top 5’s- 4, Top 10’s-7

ON TAP: Lamar will be at Silver Dollar Speedway this Friday and Saturday night.
