PETERSEN MEDIA- Taking to Silver Dollar Speedway for the Fall Nationals last weekend, Cody Lamar’s weekend would get off to a good start but unfortunately it would end on the rough side.

“We got off to a good start on Friday night and raced our way into the Dash, but I made a mistake in the feature and we slipped back, and our weekend really went the wrong direction in a hurry after that,” Cody Lamar explained.

Timing the A1 Septic/Joe Hunt Magnetos/NAAKE Suspension backed No. 9L entry in seventh quickest in his qualifying flight on Friday night, the Sacramento, CA driver would capitalize on a front row starting position in his heat race.

Picking up the win, Lamar would advance into the eight-car dash where a seventh place finish lined him up in the fourth row of the 30-lap feature event. On a racy Silver Dollar Speedway surface that did have some tricky spots, Lamar would work in the Top-10 during the opening rounds of the event.

Slipping back to 12th, Lamar would continue to run well as he battled with some stiff competition on the ¼ mile bullring. With seven to go, Lamar would get into a hole that had developed in turns three and four and it would force him to the back of the back where he would go on to finish 19th.

After getting into the hole, Lamar’s Saturday would not improve as a tough qualifying effort saw him tag the back of the C main. When that race came to life a pile up ensued in front of him, and with nowhere to go he would get in on the action and his weekend would get cut short.

“We had a little bad luck in the Friday feature, and it seemed to follow us into Saturday night,” Lamar said. “I have to thank Clark, and everyone that worked hard all weekend,” Lamar added. “Hopefully it works out and we can get to Petaluma on Saturday night and get a good run in.”

Cody and his team would like to thank A1 Septic, Joe Hunt Magnetos, and NAAKE Suspension for their continued support.

2017 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-26, Wins-0, Top 5’s- 4, Top 10’s-7

ON TAP: Cody is hopeful to be in action on Saturday night in Petaluma, CA.
