PETERSEN MEDIA- Cody Lamar had a frustrating trip to Placerville Speedway on Friday and Saturday night and the Sacramento, CA driver is eagerly looking forward to redeeming himself this weekend in Chico, CA during the Fall Nationals.

“Placerville was rough last weekend,” Cody Lamar said. “I got behind early with a bad time trial lap and we were playing catch up from that point forward.”

Timing the A1 Septic/Joe Hunt Magnetos/NAAKE Suspension No. 9L entry in 28th fastest of the 41 entries checked in for the Nor Cal Posse Shootout, Lamar was quickly in a deep hole with points being handed out all weekend.

Lining up in the fourth row of his heat race, Lamar would struggle to make up points as he would finish in the ninth spot and find himself buried in the Friday night semi. Lining up 15th in the semi, Lamar would get up near the Top-10 but being involved in a late tangle, he would have to restart from the tail as he finished 17th.

Just focusing on two heat races on Saturday night, Lamar would finish sixth in his first heat that was lined up straight off of event points, before finishing second in the second heat that was inverted fully of the previous heat race line up.

Still mired in the ‘B’ main, Lamar would take the green flag from the 12th starting position with the top six finishers moving into the 40-lap feature event. From his 12th starting spot, Lamar was quickly on the move as he moved into the Top-10.

Looking for more, Lamar would come on strong as he found himself in the seventh position with three laps to go. In a three car battle for the final transfer spot, Lamar would come up just short as he was scored in seventh and was the first car to not transfer from the “b”.

“We did make up some ground on Saturday night, and we came up just a bit short in making the feature which was a nice recovery after it all started,” Lamar added. “Thanks to everyone that helped all weekend long.”

Cody and his team would like to thank A1 Septic, Joe Hunt Magnetos, and NAAKE Suspension for their continued support.

2017 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-24, Wins-0, Top 5’s- 4, Top 10’s-7
