PETERSEN MEDIA- After a weekend of 410ci action, Cody Lamar returned to action with the Civil War Series as they invaded the Petaluma Speedway on Saturday night, and the Rio Linda, CA driver would rally to finish ninth during the non stop 30-lap A Main event.

“It was a decent night for our team,” Cody Lamar said. “We didn’t make it out of our heat unfortunately, but were able to run second in the B and start mid pack. We got going okay, but really needed a caution to pick up some more spots.”

With 27 cars on hand for the series’ fifth event of the 2016 season, Lamar timed the Lamar A1 Septic/Joe Hunt Magnetos/NAAKE Suspension backed No. 9L machine in 14th fastest during qualifying time trials.

Lamar would then find himself in a torrid battle with Geoff Ensign and Klint Simpson for the final transfer position during heat race action. Lamar would finish in the seventh spot and be forced into the night’s B Main event.

Lining up in the second row of the ‘B’, Lamar would jump into the second spot as he battled with Day Day Lindt for the top spot. Opting to drop into the second spot, Lamar would finish there and get his time back in the feature event, which meant he would line up in the seventh row for the 30-lap race.

When the race came to life, Lamar would slip back to the 15th spot as he worked around the tricky Petaluma Speedway surface that was presented to teams on this night.

Able to find a groove that worked to his liking, Lamar would get his machine moving forward as he raced his way towards the Top-10. Able to crack the Top-10 during a fast paced feature event, Lamar would get his machine as high as the ninth spot in the race’s waning laps.

With the checkered flag in the air, Lamar would bring his machine home with a ninth place finish.

“I really wish there was a caution late in the race, but it just didn’t happen,” Lamar said “We had a good car, and I am curious to see what we had for the front, but we will take our Top-10 and try to get better.”

Cody and his team would like to thank A1 Septic, Joe Hunt Magnetos, and NAAKE Suspension for their continued support.
