PETERSEN MEDIA- Getting up to Placerville Speedway for a weekly point show on Saturday night, Cody Lamar would pick up a Top-10 as he finished in the seventh spot on the ¼ mile bullring.
“It was a pretty good night overall,” Cody Lamar said. “We had good speed all night long, and we were able to move forward in the feature.”
Timing the A1 Septic/Joe Hunt Magnetos/NAAKE Suspension No. 9L machine in 10th quickest in time trials, Lamar would find himself on the front row of his heat race.
Finishing in the second position, Lamar would miss out on earning a spot in the redraw, as he would then find himself in the sixth row for the 25-lap ‘A’ main event.
With officials massaging the surface prior to the feature event, it would work out for the fans and the drivers as multiple lanes were offered providing a lot of passing on this night.
From the sixth row, Lamar was able to do some maneuvering on the slick surface. Abel to get into the Top-10, the Sacramento , CA driver continued to look for more as he raced wheel-to-wheel with some of the areas best.
A couple of late yellows would set up two double-file restarts, and when the race finally came to a close, Lamar took the checkered flag with a seventh place finish.
“It was good to get back to Placerville Speedway and run well,” Lamar said. “We are hoping we can get back up there this weekend, but we just are not sure yet.”
