PETERSEN MEDIA- Climbing behind the wheel of a fire breathing 410ci Sprint Car over the weekend for the first time in several years, Cody Lamar was pleased with his showing that included a seventh place finish at the Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night.

“It was pretty good weekend for our team,” Cody Lamar said. “It was the first time I had been in 410 in a few years and we were fast time and raced pretty well.”

Kicking things off on Friday night at the Silver Dollar Speedway, Lamar got off to a great start as he earned quick time honors during qualifications.

Picking up a third place finish in his heat race aboard his A1 Septic/Joe Hunt Magnetos/NAAKE Suspension backed No. 9L machine, Lamar would find himself in the second row of the feature event.

Going toe-to-toe with some of the tracks top 410ci drivers, Lamar would do what he could as he continued to adapt to the change in power. Running in the top-five during most of the event, Lamar would fade a little in the race’s closing laps as he finished in the seventh spot.

Heading to the Marysville Raceway on Saturday night for another night of action with the 410ci power plant, Lamar would time in fifth fastest on a track that was extremely slick and dusty during time trials.

Finishing second in his heat race, Lamar would look on as track prep crews went to work on the Marysville Raceway surface, trying to get it better for the feature event.

Lining up seventh for the 25-lap affair, the surface had now become extremely wet and fast, making the racing line fairly narrow. Able to work up into the fourth spot in the race’s firs few laps, Lamar continued to try to make something happen until front end damage on the sixth lap forced him to pull into the infield.

“I need to thank Clyde and Marion Lamar for lending us a 410ci engine for the weekend so we could try some things and get some laps with the different engine package,” Lamar added. “I’d also like to thank the entire Tri-C Motorsports team for all of their help on Friday night as well.”

Cody and his team would like to thank A1 Septic, Joe Hunt Magnetos, and NAAKE Suspension for their continued support.
