PETERSEN MEDIA- A two race weekend for Colby Copeland and F&F Racing saw the Roseville, CA driver record an 11th place finish on Friday night with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour in Tulare, CA before picking up a fourth place finish on Saturday night in Placerville, CA aboard the Econo Lube-n-Tune & Brakes No. x1jr.

“The more seat time with these guys is doing nothing but helping us,” Copeland said. “It was a pretty good weekend with us getting our first Top-Five together.”

Friday night in Tulare, CA Copeland would kick his night off by timing the Econo Lube-N-Tune & Brakes/CRV Carbon Solutions entry in third fastest in his qualifying group.

By the strength of his time, Copeland would line up on the front row of his heat race, which he would win, and earn a spot in both the feature event and the night’s Pole Shuffle.

Losing to Rico Abreu in his first round of action in the shuffle, Copeland would line up 10th in the 35-lap feature event. On an extremely slicked off Thunderbowl Raceway, Copeland would spend much of the night battling for a spot in the Top-10.

Racing with Willie Croft, Tony Gualda, and Mason Moore at times during the 35-lap affair, Copeland would take the checkered flag with an 11th place finish.

Making the long tow back to Placerville Speedway to take part in Saturday night’s weekly opener at the track, Copeland would time the F&F Racing entry in fourth fastest amongst the 20-cars checked into the pit area.

Finishing third in his heat race, Copeland would move into the nightly redraw where the six pill would place him in the third row for the 25-lap feature event.

On an uncharacteristically heavy and rough Placerville Speedway racing surface, Copeland would move forward in the opening laps as he found himself chasing after Greg DeCaires and Steven Tiner who raced hard in front of him.

While the drivers in front of him battled for second, Copeland sat in the cat birds seats waiting for an opening. Though he would try to get on the podium in the race’s closing laps, Copeland would take the checkered flag with a fourth place finish.

“I have to thank these guys for busting their butts and making the long haul up from Tulare, CA and racing Saturday night,” Copeland added. “Looking forward to another race this weekend.”

Copeland and F&F Racing would like to thank Econo Lube-n-Tune & Brakes, and CRV Carbon Solutions for their support in 2017.

ON TAP: F&F Racing and Colby Copeland will be back in action on Saturday night when the SCCT makes their first visit to Petaluma Speedway.
