Colby Copeland Plagued by Mechanical Issues in Econo Lube-n-Tune & Brakes No. x1jr
PETERSEN MEDIA- Looking for a little redemption with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour after coming so close to a feature event win in the tour’s last race, Colby Copeland would battle engine woes in Stockton on Saturday night as he would not make the feature event.
“We fought issues all night long, and it resulted in us not making the show,” Colby Copeland said. “The F&F Racing guys worked hard all night long, and hopefully we can come back strong in a couple of weeks.”
Timing the Econo Lube-n-Tune & Brakes No. x1jr entry in fifth fastest in his qualifying group, the Roseville, CA driver would line up in the third row of his heat race.
Unable to make the transfer, the Roseville, CA dirver would finish in the sixth spot and make his way to the night’s ‘B’ Main event. Lining up in the sixth row of the semi, the issues would worsen for Copeland and company, and he would pull his machine of the track on the second lap and the team’s night would come to an early end.
“Something finally let go in the semi, and it ended our night,” Copeland said. “Again, thanks to the guys, and everyone who makes this possible for this team.”
